WSOP Main Event 2025: 9735 Entries Make History as 3rd Largest Ever

PokerWsop 2025Main Event 🕒 2 🗒️ 297

The 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event wrapped up with 9,735 total entries, making it the third-largest Main Event field in history. Every player paid a $10,000 buy-in to compete, creating a massive prize pool of $90,535,500 that will be split among the top finishers.

The winner of the 2025 WSOP Main Event takes home a life-changing $10 million first-place prize, while the tournament paid out to 1,461 players in total. The minimum amount a player could cash for was $15,000, and nine players at the final table each earned at least $1 million.

Looking at the numbers, the 2025 field of 9,735 players sits just behind the 2024 record of 10,112 entries and the 2023 record of 10,043 entries. This means 2025 saw 377 fewer players than 2024 and 308 fewer than 2023, representing a 3.7% drop from last year.

Even though the field missed the 10,000-player mark, 9,735 entries is still an incredible number that shows poker remains incredibly popular worldwide. Only three times in WSOP history has the Main Event drawn more than 9,000 players, and all three happened in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

One standout moment from the 2025 Main Event was Leo Margets from Spain becoming the first woman to reach the final table since Barbara Enright in 1995. Other famous players at the final table included Michael Mizrachi, Adam Hendrix, and Kenny Hallaert, adding star power to the historic field.

The WSOP Main Event continues to be poker’s biggest and most prestigious tournament, and the 9,735 entries in 2025 prove that players around the world still dream of winning a bracelet and millions in prize money. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, the 2025 numbers show that the Main Event remains the ultimate test in poker.
