The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has released the full details of its 2025 schedule, which will consist of 100 live bracelet events. The series will run from May 27 through July 16 with the $10,000-buyin Main Event commencing on July 2. The full schedule was announced by the WSOP in a press release dated Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 following a preliminary schedule, which was released in the middle of December.
General WSOP Info
The venues for the most prestigious yearly poker series will remain the same: the Horseshoe Casino and Paris Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. These Caesars Entertainment-owned properties have been the home of the WSOP since 2022 after replacing the previous host, the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino.
Something new this time around is that GGPoker now owns the WSOP after Caesars sold the rights to the brand in October 2024 for an amazing $500 million. However, Caesars retains the rights to host the Series for 20 years, so nothing major is expected to change in the short term.
Last year’s Main Event, which saw Jonathan Tamayo prevail and claim the top $10 million prize, broke records with a field of 10,112 participants and a prize pool exceeding $94 million. Organizers hope that this year’s series will continue to top previous installments although this could be difficult given the lofty heights reached by 2024’s event.

Main Event Details
The centerpiece of the WSOP is, of course, the Main Event. The first starting flight, dubbed “Day 1A” will occur on Wednesday, July 2. The next three days will be occupied by Days 1B, 1C, and 1D.
On Sunday, July 6, the remaining fields from Day 1A, 1B, and 1C will reconvene to play out Day 2ABC. Then the following day, the remaining players from Day 1D will play out day 2D.
Starting from Tuesday, July 8, the fields will be combined and remain so for the remainder of the event. The contenders will play every day through Sunday, July 13 by which time only the final table of nine individuals will be left.
There will be a day off on Monday, July 14 before the final table plays out on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16. Whoever emerges victorious from the multi-day carnage will be the 2025 poker champion with all the prestige entailed therein.
Series Largely Unchanged
With a hugely successful 2024 series in their rear-view mirrors, tournament organizers have elected not to mess too much with success. Therefore, the lineup for 2025 carries over many elements from 2024. Beloved events, like the Mystery Millions, Colossus, Seniors NLHE Championship, $50,000 Poker Players Championship, and Gladiators of Poker, are back again in substantially the same forms as before.
However, there are a few new tournaments:
- TORSE: Replacing the $3,000 HORSE is TORSE: a game that’s the same as HORSE but with the substitution of 2 – 7 Triple Draw Lowball for Limit Hold’em
- Battle of the Ages: This $1,000-buyin tourney has two starting flights – one for players under 50 years old and another for those above that age – with fields combined for the second day of play
- PLO/NLH Mixed 8-Handed High Roller: $25,000 buyin
- PLO High Roller: $100,000 buyin
- Super Turbo Bounty NLHE: $5,000 buyin
- PLO Double Board Bomb Pot: The 2024 iteration of this $1,500 event featured alternating rounds of NLHE and PLO but the NLHE portion has been eliminated for 2025
The WSOP looks like it’s attempting to increase the number of participants per event. The number of freezeouts has decreased from 35 to 24 while there are more tournaments that allow re-entries than there were in 2024. Furthermore, some of the more popular MTTs, like the Colossus and the Mystery Millions, have had extra starting flights added.
A few tourneys have had the length of their blind levels increased for better playability. More controversial is an increase in average buyin from around $9,800 in 2024 to nearly $11,000 this year. Also disappointing are the higher tournament fees in many contests, such as the 17% rake in $500 events (up from 16%) and the 1.5% rake in the $250,000 buyin Super High Roller (up from 0.40%).
Still Waiting on Online Bracelet Info
Last year, there were 37 online bracelets awarded through the WSOP Online regulated poker site. These events take place online but nevertheless count as official WSOP tournaments with gold bracelets being shipped to the winners of each online bracelet tourney.
It’s almost certain that there will be online bracelet events again this year, but they have not yet been officially announced. We could see the number of them increase modestly perhaps to 40 or 45.

The World Series of Poker revealed its online bracelet schedule for 2025. It will consist of 30 events running from May 31 to July 15, and anyone located in one of the four states served by WSOP Online (New Jersey, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania) can participate.
Buyins will range from $250 to $5,300 with total guarantees of $5.5 million. The largest guarantee comes in the $1,000 Mystery Bounty Championship, which will award at least $1.5 million in prizes. Five tournaments will feature a hybrid online-live format with the bulk of the action taking place on the internet but with the final table playing out in person in Las Vegas.
Satellites Beckon
As usual, there will be myriad ways of qualifying for the WSOP even if you don’t wish to buy in directly to events. There is an ambitious set of satellites, both offline and online, promising to reward thousands of players with coveted WSOP entries.
Online Qualifiers
Internationally, GGPoker is hosting online qualifying tournaments. Last year, 1,000 individuals were recipients of WSOP seats from GGPoker, and we expect similar results this year. Meanwhile, WSOP Online will be offering satellites to residents of the states in which it’s authorized to do business: Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
Other operators will likely also offer mechanisms for obtaining WSOP seats. While these are not officially sanctioned by the WSOP, they are not prohibited either. ACRPoker gave away 30 packages to Las Vegas last year.
Live Qualifiers
Live cardrooms around the world are also giving players the ability to win WSOP Main Event seats. For instance, Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York is running a $1,400-buyin tournament on March 2 where 1 in 10 participants will walk away with a $13,000 Main Event package.
The WSOP itself will be conducting live satellites throughout the summer festivities. These are in “Landmark Mega Satellite” format. In these games, whenever a player reaches a predetermined number of chips, they are removed from the tourney and rewarded with a certain number of casino chips.
There will be three Landmark Mega Satellites per day from May 27 to July 14 with buyins of $240, $580, and $135 awarding $2,000, $5,000, and $1,000 respectively to the victors. Additional Landmark Megas will be held immediately preceding $5,000- and $10,000-buyin WSOP tournaments.
Europe Dates Announced
Though it was not the main focus of the WSOP’s latest news, the WSOP Europe festival was also mentioned briefly. It will take place from Sept. 12 to Oct. 8 at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. There will be 15 bracelet events, including the €10,350-buyin Main Event with a €6 million guarantee.
